Overview

First Nations Technical Services Advisory Group Inc. (TSAG) in partnership with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), is looking to fund innovative projects that are supporting animals and human health initiatives in First Nations Communities located in Alberta. These projects ensure that animals are well-cared for, are treated with respect and support the health and safety of community members.

This opportunity to support these projects will improve the lives of animals by affecting change and place a priority on respecting the physical, psychological and behavioral needs of animals in the community while at the same time promoting healthier and safer interactions with community members.

TSAG is seeking to recognize and award First Nations making a positive change in animal welfare and safety in First Nations communities in Alberta. The applicants can apply for a grant of up to $15,000. A selection criteria/scoring matrix will be used by a panel of health and animal welfare experts to ensure consistent eligibility and consideration for all applications.

What We Fund

TSAG will fund projects that are innovative, educational and have public outreach/awareness that promote safer animal and human interaction in the First Nations communities within Alberta.

Projects can include private partnerships, animal control campaigns (clinics), educational activities, partnering with local schools (NAIT/SAIT), organizations or pet rescues, etc.

Preference and priority will be given to those communities that have not hosted a Spay and Neuter Clinic with the Canadian Animal Task Force (CATF). Projects should be Jan 30th, 2027.
