Small Water & Wastewater Systems Operations Course (AWWOA)

This 2 day (plus 1 extra day) in-class AWWOA course worth 1.2 continuing education units (CEU’s) is designed to assist new operator’s with the operation and maintenance of small water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection & wastewater treatment systems.
Completion of this course is only one part of the prerequisite for Small System Certification. Alberta Environment administers a separate Small Wastewater System Operator Certification Exam. Applicants who wish to write the certification exam must qualify and apply to the Alberta Environment Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Portal (Compliance365) during the application window for exams (approvals every two months). Certification eligibility for Small Systems must be confirmed PRIOR to submitting an exam application.
NOTE: This event/workshop is FREE to attend for Alberta First Nation Operators/Supervisors/
TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS: Participants are responsible for making their own travel & accommodation arrangements. Travel, hotel and meal expense reimbursement forms* will be provided upon the completion and full attendance of the course, and only for water/wastewater operators who’ve never taken the course previously, and who are also planning to write the AEPA Small Water and Wastewater Systems certification exams within the next 6 months. *Expense reimbursements are made directly back to the Nations and not the participants.
